Default Best set up?

I am thinking about getting a system for my car and i was wondering what you guys thought was the best choice. I do not want to spend a lot of money but i want something that is gonna sound good and bump hard. I was wondering if anybody has used an Amplified Sub? like the bazooka one for example? this would be a good choice for me but i dont want a piece of crap that nobody can tell i have....

Thanks

budget often dictates what is best, and what you want out of the system helps too.... Amplified subs are a great way to easily add some low end to a system. I have used bazooka, infinity basslink and a couple of others I can't think of now with success.

IMO spend the extra money on a sub and amp instead of an all in one unit

If you want something that bumbs hard a self contained unit is not for you.

Like scott said, they are a great way to add bottom end to a system, but output will be limited.

How much do you want to spend?

What type of music do you listen to? (You used the work bump, so should I assume rap)

Will you install yourself?

Will you build your own box?

Do you care about how good it sounds or do you just want loudness?

What's the model number/ size? As for amps you can run a class D. mono block and daisy chain the subs. I'm a fan of Soundstream equipment... the Rubicon 1.1000D is a nice mono amp that should work great with those subs. Hifonics makes some good stuff as well and they aren't as overpriced. sonicelectronix . com is a good discount audio site.

check local classifieds for jl you can get a killer sound system for a good price or if you go on ebay you may save a few hundreds it depends on timing but if you want loud reliable bass go with jl audio make sure the amp and the sub power is balanced you dont want to blow your speakers so be careful

Oh man. Where has the audio section gone to? JL, Type R's, MTX, and Hifonics?

Please, stop posting in here if You refer to any of the preceeding good bang for the buck, or they "bump" hard.
