Default rear speakers problems

so i have a 99 mustang gt, all mach 460 has been removed and replaced with a kenwood hu, and a rockford fosgate 4 channel amp, all speakers are still stock and was going to replace the rear speakers (5 1/4) and after hooking up the new speakers all they put out is bass still and was wondering how i can get them to be a full range speaker?

It depends on the amp, and the filter settings on the amp. Of course the settings in the headunit also.

Make sure you're connecting directly from the HU to the amp to the speakers.

yes all the mach amps are out its just one amp, the way car toys set it up i dont think was exactly right because it was suppose to have both tweeters going to deck power and then the other 2 sets going to the amp for power but the back speakers still wont put out full range.

HMMMM...... sounds like some setting on the amp.... Look at the amp and see what the filter is set on (LP,AP,HP). If it is set on Low pass then yes it will only get low range. You are still using the factory speakers? WOW.

Wait... try this... does your HU have subwoofer control? Maybe the rear channel of the rcas is plug into the non-fading(subwoofer) output. Try this go to the sub control on the HU and turn it up see if the volume increases. If the volume increases then it is plug into the wrong output on the HU.

i am currently using the factory speakers because even when i plugged in aftermarket speakers it still was only putting out bass and im trying to fix it, and what setting does the amp need to be on then? and as far as the next part i already had subs in the car with one set of rcas when the amp and hu was installed and i can fade the sound so should i be running two sets of rca cables?

Amp setting: all pass(AP or off)- this will put full range to the speakers, this control will not let you use the freq control *** on the amp....high pass(HP)- this control lets you adjust the freq control ***, so you can limit what freq are put to the speakers. Example:Filter to HP, you adjust the *** to 200hz, then the amp puts all freq from 200 and up to the speakers.

If you can fade the sound then, yes you should have 2 sets of RCAs to that 4 channel, what about balance?
