Default Mach 6 disc changer in 96?

What would I need to install the 99-04 Mach 6 disc CD unit in the 96-98 stangs? The car came stock with the Mach system, just not the 6 cd changer.

I obviously need the head unit and newer style plastic cover piece. What else? Do I need some sort of conversion pigtail? My Pioneer aftermarket head unit is crapping out on me and I don't want to spend another $200+ just to listen to CDs.

Man it is not worth the time to switch it out for a headunit that will eat your cds....You will have to mod the dash to mount it, buy the 01-04 dash bezal or mod your dash to fit it, plus the rewiring you will have to do. Not worth it. Buy a new aftermarket hu to replace what you have.

my first thought when i read what you wanted to do was. why? if you want to do a up grade. i would do the dash bezal swap and get a double din touch screen.
