hey i can't seem to find an in-dash gps that will fit for my '05 mustang. only ones i see are 600+

can anyone help me w/ this, or are the prices just really this high?

not sure if I would want to spend less then $600 on an indash navi..... That is just too much for not enough to get what you want out of it.

just found a kenwood dnx5120 for 450 so that will probably be it

one of the main problems with indash navis are that they often have out of date maps, have you looked at like a tomtom940 or 930, or the Garmin Nuvi's work great.

yeah but i really wanted one to control the stereo too though, all in one.

Well if you are going for name brand, then $450 is probably as good as it gets. Even knock off or lesser known brands will run you over $400. Sites like www.mp3playerstore.com can get you a 7 inch indash unit for $200-250 and you can buy the GPS add on later, I have used a monitor from them before, it worked pretty well and at a good price, so it might be worth looking into.

I found my Pioneer Avic-F700BT a while back for like $350. I've seen them lately for $339 shipped. It's a great HU and the GPS works well, with built in bluetooth and iPod controls (with iPod cable).

thank you guys, that seems to be a good idea actually..cause truly i don't need a gps right now, but i would like the monitor for music and stuff.

when buying somethng so complex and with soo many options, I would really really recomend steering you towards your local retailer. Yes, you are going to pay more but the service that a good shop can offer on a high-tech piece of equipment like this would more then make up for it.
