ya i think it will fit. my friend that has it now has it in his 97? cavalier. when you say slam and rattle it. are you saying that is bad? what i mean is are the mustangs ok to handle sub's?with out falling apart?
i know that sounds like a stupid question, but ive had huge systems before but they where in POS's and i didnt care if **** fell off.
and what do you mean if the deck can handle it?

Some decks just cant run the power for the amp and subs ....i dont know if i would put that big of a system in a mustang just because i think it would rattle it a ton....cause ive got a friend with a twelve in there and it rattles it pretty hard outside the car i think its prob gonna be to much....i have the mach 1000 system with the two 10's in the back and it sounds pretty good...i would either go with two tens or somethin smaller cause its goin to be way loud....either that or youlljust have to turn your amp way down either or..

Haha ys its no fun at all ...ya $400 does soundlike a pretty good deal for an amp and a sub....if your gettin it from your friend for that much you should try and go to a audio place and see if you can get somethin better for that money first before you buy it from him ....goodluck man

I have a 2005 with the Shaker 500 system and I'm running an amp and sub off the stock head unit. Sounds great too. My mids and highs are really crisp and clear because I can turn the bass all the way down. There's none of that trashy sound from bass in the components. All you need is a line output converter. It's really easy to install. You just splice into your two rear speaker wires and run a line for positive and negative on both to the LOC. I put mine in the trunk and tied it into the two speakers under the back glass. The LOC is where you plug in your RCAs for the amp. Some people bitch about poor quality but I haven't had a bad comment about my system yet. If you have any questions feel free to ask me and I will try to help.

actually when hooking up a line converter its suppose to be behind the head unit and use the front door speakers. My freind and i did it in the rear and then put them on the front and it sounded soooo much better.

What kind of LOC was is? Every one I've ever seen is supposed to be in the rear. It really doesn't matter I would think because it should be getting the same signal to the rear as it is at the front. Just makes it a hell of a lot easier to fool with since you don't have to run RCAs and worry about interference with them.
