Default Kenwood DNX6140

My Kenwood dnx6140 unit the other day has started to put some 'whine' like feedback into my system. It just started happening recently and does not seem to be feedback from the alternator, since it is independent of my RPMS; it is a consistent sound.

This is driving me NUTS! Does anyone have an idea what this could be from?

everything stock except i have a kicker amp and two kicker 12s in the trunk, these were installed by a shop a while ago, when i still had my other hu

but for a 1000$ + HU i dont think i should be having any problems! I bought it new from amazon, but now i am worried kenwood wont honor the warranty if purchased from amazon?

I will double check the connections later this week when i have some time off from the gym/work

NOTE: the interference is very inconsistent, it hasnt happened in two days now, after being steady most of three days

no, kenwood will not warranty an amazon sale and you probably knew that when you bought it. It is probably not a deck issue anyway.

Can you help me a little more by telling me what year stang this is in? Did it have the mach460 system? Does the sound come from the subs, or from the other speakers?

try grounding it out with a new wire from the deck case to the car somewhere.

Sounds like a ground issue to me. Check that first, I'd bet it's loose. Hit a bump and it will move enough to mess up the connection, hit another and it will move back. If it was the rca's it would be distortion from the subs. And, if the rca's & power were crossed, it would have been a problem from the beginning.
