Default radio not working sometimes

Hi i have a 96 gt with an aftermarket deck. The deck is old, its a cassette deck with a 10 disk cd player in the trunk. But anyway, sometimes when I turn my car on the deck is complety dead like no lights on it and nothing works on it. Or sometimes it works great then all of a sudden the screen will die but keep on playing, but it will only keep on playing if a cd was on.. or sometimes i can turn on the radio but only the radio works, not the cd player.... any imput? I havent had time to take it apart but im thinking a lose wire or something?

who makes the deck?

have you checked any wiring? It sounds internal but you need to start simple.

I would double check your wiring as it could be loose. Do you know what kind of connectors were used?
