Default Audio Help

So I am finally going to bite the bullet and finish off my car stareo. I intend on using what I can from my old vehicle:

Alpine PDX-4.100
Boston Acoustics PRO60 Components
Alpine IVA505 Head Unit

My question is....using these components, do I need to worry about having a full 10/13" sub, or can I get away with just replacing the door's 8" with some nice JL's?

Call it what you will....being quoted over $2800 to finish off my car w/ a Stealthbox, 8" midrange subs, 5x7's and DinoMat is just not in the cards atm.

where at in california? id like to help out

and that price seems outlandish for what they would want depending on the brand and model but even then that is alot unless you are getting the best models they carry ha.

you most likely can put new 8" in the doors but you should really try to figure out how many ft^3 the stock enclosures are gross so you have a general idea of what type of subwoofer to put in the door and also find out the tuning iirc those door enclosures for the 8s are ported.
also you do not need to replace your 8s with just jl there are infact alot of models better than jl for the price to performance ratio. the onl jl 8s i see you getting in the doors would be the w0 since it isnt that deep.

you already have a good start if you infact have that equipment in your possession already. if you dont plan on installing a subwoofer in your trunk then i dont see you needing alot of dampner

I would like to help out with the install if needed, If you need a box made i can do one for you also.
