Default 2002 GT with mach, want a new setup

I currently have a mach 460 system with a pioneer headunit, it has the sub outputs on the back in RCAs...i want to *** a sub and better speakers cuz these get distorted up top....i know they are 6x8's in the doors and rear deck what about the little tweeters in the door? wat size speakers should i buy wat brand and what kind of amp and everything, im new to the whole audio scene, i just know head units nothing about speakers at all

If you want just drop in speakers 5x7s are fine. 6.5 components would be a better option however. How much are you looking to spend? As far as subs 2 12s is not a problem in the trunk you just need the right box. If I could change my system though I would've gone with 1 12 instead because of space concerns. Save some cash for some dampening material. I added Dynamat Xtreme (can get wholesale at about 1/4 of retail price) and it made a noticeable difference.
