Z110bt
So I've been wanting to get bluetooth, nav, and a good ipod interface installed for a while now and I convinced myself to get the flagship model Pioneer Avic Z110BT. I'm happy with the choice.
It was a floor/display model so I got them to drop the price of it (though you can definitely find it cheaper online). I don't think they will be getting any more in because the Z120BT will be coming out possibly later this month and be quite a bit more expensive than the Z110BT currently is.
I was really wanting to just wait for the Z120BT until i found out that the hardware is exactly the same, and I will be able to get the software update when it comes out at an estimated $130.
The Pandora feature is going to be awesome! The ipod interface is satisfactory right now, but should be better with that update. I love being able to use voice recognition for the ipod, bluetooth and navigation.
I might have to find a new location (overhead light console perhaps) for the microphone, but it seems to work fine where it is now, hanging from the front of the headliner at the window, above the mirror. I may have to move it because I've got a HomeLink mirror that I need to install that may need that space it curls into at the headliner.
Anyway, I should maybe have pics of it later today.
Only problem I have is that I wish I could still use the Aux input in my center console. It is suggested in multiple forums that a certain wiring harness ($120) should be used with the Shaker units because of the amps, but it was also my understanding that the Aux input would work with this wiring harness, I was wrong.
So as it stands right now, I keep my Ipod classic hooked up via the ipod adapter in the glove box, while I just put my iphone in the center console if I need to charge it via the power outlet.
