Default Shaker 500 Stereo System

I have an '05 Mustang, and i've only had it for 3 months. The factory tweeter speakers in the door, not the bottom subwoofers, are crackling around a little bit. Is there any way that I can buy the exact same speakers that were factory-installed and that are in there now, to replace the ones that are crackling?? I don't want to replace the subwoofers in the doors, because they still sound good. And are the speakers part of the Shaker 500 stereo system?? I have been googling and searching for Shaker 500 speakers and I can't find them anywhere. Looking for a little advice!! Thanks!!

You can get them from the dealer I'd imagine. For stock speakers you're limited to that or a junkyard.

You can replace the factory drivers, but it isn't fun.

This was done by a member on another forum:

He used the original factory mid-range basket as a mount for his aftermarket mid-range driver:

I'll try to find more information on the tweeters he used and post back.

Edit: He used the 1-3/8" Onkyo tweeters that Parts Express had as part of their "buyout" special.

Edit2: If you were to do this, I would highly suggest you replace BOTH tweeters because it may not sound quite right with one tweeter mismatched from the other.

You will need to replace the deck before you replace any speakers. This is recomended anyway because ford/jbl programed the indash changer to lock up when it recognized that it has your 6 most favorite disks.
