Default Sub quit working..now Speakers pop?

A couple months ago, my sub randomly quit working. I checked the wiring and it all looked good, the fuse looked fine. And for some reason, when I turn the volume all the way down to zero the other speakers pop once. Any ideas?

Upgrade to aftermarket lol (if its not already). I know thats a generic answer but it's probably the best you'll get online since we can't get in there ourselves. Get a meter in there...Thats the only way you're gonna find out where the problem is.

Is the subwoofer aftermarket, or OEM? Is there an amplifier?

we need to know as much info as possible. Factory subs or aftermarket?

STart by checking all the fuses, yes I mean every one in the box. It takes less time to pull and check each on to verify that they are all good. Don't forget the ones under the hood.

It's aftermarket. One 10' Jenson subwoofer, and a 200w Clarion Amp. I've had it installed for about 3 years, but the amp and sub I bought used so I'm not sure how old they are. I've checked the fuses, they look good. I can still listen to the radio and everything, but the subs don't work. The amp's lights still come on, but I also tried to plug in an older sub, and it didnt work either. But all the wires still look good. I don't know whats going on.

Usually a popping noise comes from too much power.

Pull the fuse for the amp out. Are the speakers still popping when you turn it down?

Great so the amp still has power, now we need to find out if it has a bad input or if the output of the amp is bad. If you have an mp3 player find a headphone to rca connector they are fairly cheap at an electronics store. Turn the radio/amp on and then plug your mp3 in and see if there is anything comming out of the amp.
