Default Mach 460 Tweeter Blown

So I have a 2001 Mustang with a Mach 460 sound system, and a few days ago the front right tweeter began crackling and has since blown out completely. This is the speaker in the "pod" riding on top of the door. I've been trying to find out how to replace it but am still not entirely sure what to do. Are there any speakers that would replace the "tweeter" in this housing? The stock speaker is just a 2.5" 4 ohm cardboard speaker, and I've been searching around but it seems a speaker like this isn't easy to find. Also if I understand correctly it's supposed to have a lower frequency response of 300hz?? I have found several tweeter pods on e-bay, but I don't know how hard they would be to install. If anyone has repaired/replaced one of these speakers before or has any advice I would very much appreciate it.

I have never seen a 2.5" 4 ohm speaker as well, it was an odd size. What I would recomend doing is replacing the doors woofers with a 6 x 8", or 6.5" full range driver and using the signal that went to the tweeter to drive it. You will need to replace both sides of course but it will sound better.

Thanks Irall. I found someone on E-Bay selling a Mach tweeter, it should be arriving in a few days. He said it was guarenteed to be in good working condition so hopefully that should end my probs. I don't know anything about car audio so this seems like the easiest route. If I do end up needing them I'll shoot you a PM.

Slightly off topic.. I was making sure it was only my front tweeter that was blown, and went around my car with my ear to each speaker listening for distortion. The other speakers are fine, but I noticed that the rear speakers under the grills are completely covered by carpet. Is this normal? It seems like it would take away from the clarity of the system??
