Default Not a Stang but audio help needed!

I'm putting new speakers in my gf's 08 Civic and I need some technical information. The stock speakers were little junky things, so I figured some decent speakers would really wake it up. She said she mostly wanted it to be "louder and more bass."

I bought 6.75" Pioneer TS-D1702R speakers and they seem decent enough, but now after installing the fronts, I think I actually lost alot of bass! Going to do the rears now, but I'm going to be very disappointed if I install them and I notice an overall loss in bass. Otherwise, highs seem pretty good so far, and it does seem louder (only 88dB sensitivity).

Perhaps they would sound much better if they were amp driven? I'm not very knowledgable on amping speakers, but since the speakers are 60rms, and the deck probably only puts out 14-22rms, would it gain performance with more juice?

Thanks! Woman's gonna beat me if these suck

Speakers sucked so bad that I told her I'd pay for the speakers and I'd put the stock ones back in. Turn you bass down to -10 and your treble to +10, that's similar in sound

I had to look that term up, but I don't know. They simply sound like trash. I'm putting the stock speakers back in currently

that what it is out of phase
one of the speakers was wire wrong, if you don't know what wire is possitive or negative, just switch the wires on one of the speakers for now and listen with the doors close , also in order to get bass out of the civic doors there needs to be no holes
make sure the front of the speaker and the rear of the speaker air is isolate
close all the holes you can , also rear deck speakers will give you a better sound and more bass
good luck

They were not wired wrong, I'm not a complete idiot. I used Metra connectors, so it would be impossible to wire them backwards anyways.

Replaced it with the stock speakers, threw the Pioneers in the garbage.
