Default GT 07 door speaker replacement

I am trying to replace the door speakers in my 07 GT w/factory nav/stereo. I have searched threads and found alot of info but some of it seems dated and none address the speaker location, most show a clip with the speaker location in the center of the door. My door speakers a standouts on the lower forward corners of the door panel. Must the door panel be removed? thanks

Do you have the Shaker 500 setup?

Like this:

If so, the top driver is a 6x8 and the lower driver is a 8" subwoofer. Also, you have to pull the door panel to change either one of them. The 8" subwoofer screws in from the front and has one screw holding it in from the rear.

also as info the lower 8" woofer if you change it you pretty much have to change its amp also. changing the upper 5x7/6x8 can be very simple though just swap in the new speaker of your choice

And while on the subject of the 8s... Many don't just drop in because the rear of the factory enclosure is odd shaped. Some have used a heat gun to reshape the enclosure whereas others build baffles as spacers.

The 8's are 1.2 ohm dual voice coil drivers and the factory amps are ultra weak sauce.

The woofer:

The amplifier:

I'm also looking for some new 8"s. I've been powering the stock shaker 500 8"s with 160wrms a piece bandpassed to 100-500hz. I'd like to get some better bass up front so I think swapping these out would be a good start.
