On the internet it's easy to recommend something.

Quite often, I find someone giving a recommendation, but they don't actually own the item that they're recommending. Furthermore, sometimes they make the recommendation having NEVER heard the other option, or... perhaps they've never even heard the item that they're recommending.

You need to realise he is looking at the cvr not the solo barics. HUGE difference. The solo are made for loud deep booming bass. They need a huge box to be at their full potential. IMHO the cvrs are a great all around sub.

Meh, don't remind me of 2007 when just about every Mustang forum was recommending the Infinity Kappa 6x8s (682.7cf IIRC). I purchased 2 pair based on the internet recommendations and they were HORRIBLE.

Granted, they were not too bad with HU power but when I amplified them, the MMD tweeters nearly ripped my head off. There is even a +3dB option for the tweeters on those 6x8s, and I don't know why anyone who values their high frequency hearing would want to run them any louder than they already are.

kappas = wow those tweets are loud. Alot of people like it, I have no idea as I do not like my ears bleeding.

Kickers subs need a big box, as well as big power to get good sound of them. Their amps seem too need alot of current to get big power, so all things considered I call them ineffecient and there are alot of other optoins out there.
