Car Alarm Help
I just bought a clifford matrix 1x 2-way alarm system new in box for $90. There's no way I'm going to install this on my own and have called a couple shops and the best price is $100 for the install if no other parts are needed. Has anyone put one of these on your car or a Viper 350 or Python 460 (I've heard they are all the same since they're made by DEI), and if so were any extra parts needed.
I recently had a Viper 350 Plus installed in my 00 GT and havent had any issues, I asked them to add an alarm trigger to the Trunk. (they were only going to do the doors at first).
They mentioned having to hook the Trunk trigger to the Mercury switch since mustangs dont use hood & trunk pins.
They also had to use resistors on the doors to prevent the factory PATS system from interfering with the alarm.
And they added the trunk pop function to the Viper remotes AUX button.
I would just be sure whenever you take it has experience with mustang installs.

a relay or two is almost assured, probably at least two to do the door locks.
I would not go with the cheapest place either as a good alarm with a bad install give years of head aches. Ask how they make their connections, solder is prefered, crimp is acceptable and run if they say T-taps....
