Default Trunk Box and 8" Door Replacements

Just finished a fiberglass box for the rear of my 2010 GT. Used Kicker CVR8's on the doors for replacement subs. Fabricated some extension rings. Took 2 pieces of 3/4" MDF joined together with some sanding and bondo.

Awesome! Those are the "shallow" Kickers, and you still had to bump them out an inch and a half, eh?

What kind of amp and connection setup are you using?

Enclosure looks bad azz, but i would replace the subwoofer with a CVR. The comp sub is alright, but i blew out the surround on one of them. CVR can take the punishment.

Actually the door speakers aren't shallow mounts they are just CVR8's. Fairly deep mounting depth on them so had to go with 2 joined pieces. Powering the door speakers with the ZX450.2.

Right now I am building the case for my next project the carputer. Have everything in but just realized the 12v dc-dc power supply I ordered isn't a regulated 12v setup

Oh well few more days til I can get one out here.

Oh forgot to add I placed some in-line bass blockers on the front and rear 6x8's. Did well to get rid of that distortion. Even after replacing the speakers with some Pioneers. Didn't want to go too crazy since I knew I would be tossing the blockers on them.

I extended my 6.5" speakers out 3/8" keeping the stock grill and I kick them with my right foot getting out of the vehicle. I'd hate to see what 1.5" of extension and no grill would end up looking like after a month.

Your setup looks good, but I must ask you... How bad are your door panels and switches buzzing now?

So where did you tap off to get the input signal for your sub amp? And what kind of adapter did you use, if any?

PAC AOEMFRD24 was the adapter I used. I am not noticing any real bass loss at higher volumes. Its temporary until I replace my entire stereo with the carputer I just built.

Answer for the door rattling question. I wrapped all the wiring in batting material can be found at any fabric store and I used small rubber strips to place behind all of the connectors that were hinged on the metal door frame itself to void any rattling out.

That would do it! So now all of your speakers are powered through new amps.... right?
