Default which interface for new stereo install

Which is the best interface to use when installing an aftermarket radio in the 2010 mustang with the shaker 500. I am ready to put my system in this car cause I just can't handle not having my music.

Which is best PAC C2R-FRD1 or SCOSCHE FDSR

I have found more by searching on the Pac than I have the Scosche.

A lot of people are using the PAC because there is information about it in the forums. Just see what your installer is using. If you are doing it your self I would go with the PAC.

Thanks Mondo73... I know i havent heard much about the scosche.. I don't trust most installers because of a problem that i had from one way back from when I was in high school... Had one just totally mess my car up. So I taught myself how to do it and I have aways installed my own systems. In the town I live in there is very few installers that do quality work.

I'm right there with you. I had some kid friend of my son's that was going to use wire nuts on an alarm install.

Not on my car, you don't! I just told Jim I'd do it myself, which I did - with soldered connections and heat shrink.

You'll never find an installer who cares enough about your car to give it the same level of care that you will.

Yeah.. When I was in high school I had an 89 Camaro and I had what was supposed to be the best Sound shop in town install a system in it for me.. Well they used 4 inch screws to mount my amp in the back. I found out when we took the stereo system out that they mounted the amp where my gas tank was.. Every time i would fill up more than half a tank I would be leaking gas.. We had to finally install a new gas tank and they never paid a dime for it. Needless to say no one has touched my car since then.

You can probably find a good installer, but you will pay more than what is included for a basic install.

I have seen both of those situations come into my shop for me to fix, there ain't no fixin wire nuts just removing. Was his dad an electrician as they seem to thing they are as usefull as duct tape.

I pulled a stereo out of a mustang and also realized that the other place went into the gas tank by the immidiate smell of gas. I am not sure how they didn't realize a 4" screw would do that....

I worked as an installer for 10+ yrs and because of that I have access to a forum of industry experts. If you guys ever want a reputable installer or good shop let me know what city/area your in and I will go on there(they have a sectoin for this) and I will find one on you. The general idea in there is that twist nuts and posi-taps make our asses bleed...

It's Halloween so time for a resurrection...
I know this thread is hella old but I'm going to add an aftermaket amp and sub to the trunk of my '09 and it has the shaker 500 (factory nav with the door subs). I can use the AOEM-FRD24 for this correct?

Thanks,
Jeff
