us recomending speakers for you is like us recomending pizza to you. Not everyone likes the same thing and to each his own. A good example is Everyone here recomends infinity and the tweet in them just makes my ears bleed... It is even harder when we do not know you music tastes, how loud, ect. I would really recomend taking a trip to your local audio dealer to listen to EVERY speaker they have. The board is not the end-all-be-all but it will become quickly appearant what you like and what you don't.

Your need is very broad. Name any brand.

Ok, I'll bite...

Just about ANYTHING you consider will be superior to stock, especially if you don't already have a premium or MACH system.

I believe 6x8 speakers are a direct replacement.

If you opt for an external amp, make sure your speaker choices can handle the additional power...they should be rated at 45-50W minimum.

You might consider mounting tweeters on the side mirror panels for better imaging...the current door speaker setup makes for a wierd soundstage (i.e., from the driver's side, I hear left front/right rear)...

what kind of music do you listen too and how loud? and as mentioned price point is normally the starting point to where poeple make recomendations.

If you want a killer set of speakers I am selling my diamond audio hex 3 way componants(6-4-1s). They are to date the best sounding speakers I have ever owned and I am hoping the new phoenix gold Ti elite 3 ways(9-5-1s). They are a great buy at only $300 as they retailed for over 800 but the 3 way mounting would require additional work to install them as well as an additional amp.

If you listen to something with complex highs such as Techno I would recommend Memphis PR 5x7's. Cost about 80 a pair and sound good for the money IMHO. Direct fit.
