Default LOC install locations

i have purchase a audiocontrol lc6i for my 2012 mustang coupe and i'm in the process of upgrading the soundsystem, however i have yet to find a suitable location for the LOC. was wondering where others have placed theres. to minimize wiring i'd like to keep it as close to the headunit as possible, however i am open to placing it in the truck but as a last resort

definitly do NOT put it in the truck, it will not do much for your mustang

I always recomend putting them behind the radio. If you don't put it as close to the source as possible it will pick up noise, that your new amp will then amplify.

just curious, but why not put it in the trunk and tap into the wiring harness for the stock amp, which too is located in the trunk?

I also have an Audiocontrol LCi, and I'm using it to run my trunk-mounted sub. As it has left and right inputs, I connected to the left and right rear speakers. (The rear speakers are sent a lot more bass than the front speakers)

I've got a 400W polk bridged amp and a single 12" alpine type R in a sealed box, and the combination puts out more bass than a normal human being would want in a year.

There is pleny of room behind your stereo faceplate (under the cd player itself) to install and mount your LOC. But instead of a LOC, have you considered using the AOEM-FRD24 from PAC? This is a direct plug & play into your stock deck, and it leaves you with to sets of RCA's (front and rear), and a remote wire. What more can you ask for for $35?

I installed it in my 2011 and I was very happy to not have to splice into any wires on my brand new car! I ordered mine through ebay for $35 shipped...you can find them from many different online stores though.

How/where did you connect the speaker outputs from the new amp to the speakers without splicing?

I mounted my Kicker 10ZXSUM8 LOC on a piece of MDF board and placed it into the upper driver's side corner of my trunk, used very long screws, nuts as spacers and careful measuring/drilling to get it into the corner facing downward. It's completely out of the way and you can't even see it unless you lean forward.

The link that you provide above on LOC install locations is not working very well. Could anybody get it replaced?
