02 Mach 460 3rd amp???????????????
Ok...I'm confused! Is there a front amp on the 02 Mach 460 system? I pulled a complete system out of the car at the junk yard. I got EVERYTHING! I even went back because I thought I might have missed it and I didn't see one. I even checked the harnesses I cut and everything out of the head unit went into a harness that went into the dash. I guess there's a possibility I missed it when I first pulled the system and someone got it before I went back and checked. Lastly I even hooked the entire system in the garage to make sure it worked and it did. I hooked the front and rear tweeters directly to the speaker wires that came out of the head unit. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Brian

I found this on a different forum. Could the 02 Mach system really only have the two rear amps?
In 2001 when Ford switched to the double DIN headunit location they did away with the 3rd amp located under the radio stack behind the console and relied on the internal power of the Mach 6-disc headunit to power the tweeters. The power is filtered to remove anything below 1000 hz. the 6x8's in the doors and the rear deck are each on their own channel and are run in Mono. Front's sharing an amp and the rears sharing the amp, again in mono. your ear cannot differentiate (sp?) stereo below 250 hz as bass is supposed to be omni-directional below those frequencies.
Hope this clears stuff up.

Update! EVERY wiring diagram that I can find shows that the 4 tweaters are wired directly to the head unit. No 3rd amp mounted in the dash under the radio. If anyone has information showing something different please let me know.
