2008 GT HID Issues
I'm sure the title is a common one. For how simple HIDs are, they sure are temperamental.
Now, I wired everything up properly, there's really no way to get it wrong. I have two good grounds, and my power source is the Fuse box.
My issue, is because I have a Hi/Low kit (H13), or so I think that's where the problem lies.
Now to the problem. In short, when I give it power (via the fuse box) the lights always stay on. If I touch the relay, or tap it with my finger, it'll flicker. Now, let's say I press the unlock button and tap the Hi/Low relay, it won't flicker. Under both of these circumstances I have no control of the lights via the interior panel.
I've been able to manipulate the lights so that sometimes they won't turn on just by touching the power source, but as soon as I touch or tap the relay, it turns on. Sometimes when I tap it with my finger, it turns off, than inevitably back on. When I manipulate it so it doesn't stay on (which I've only done for a maximum of 30 seconds) I can control the lights from the interior. Although, the lights are only on one setting (either hi or low beam.) Since I'm not familiar with this kit, I can't make a distinction as to whether it automatically starts on low or high.
My two causes, I'm guessing here, may be a bad relay and or a reverse polarity issue.
I would appreciate any leads.
