I have a 2005 Mustang 4.0L.

I simply went on Amazon and purchased the Full HID Kit. I just went in my manual, got the lightbulb number which was H13 and searched 2005 mustang H13 HID kit, and I found one.

I got it for $69.99, and i'm still waiting for it to arrive. But search ebay/amazon they should have some for cheap. I got the full kit which comes with wires and everything. If you have your manual, you should be able to find out which bulb you would need.

its not a big deal to put them in. The biggest problem with them is that they are really made to go into a "projector style" housing and putting them into a stock reflector leads to alot of angry drivers facing you. I am not up to date with what is available for your car in a projector style since I own a 94 gt but I am sure a quick search would show you what available. Its not necessarily needed to "re-do" the wiring but it is recomended to add relays to supply the power for the ballasts but there are easy to do kits that just plug in for each model of car, again with a search they can be found.

I put them in my 94 with projectors and have been happy with them since.

to do it right you need to retrofit projectors into you stock headlights. Below is a link to a company that sells kits. I called them they were very helpfull. I have not done the conversion yet, but hope to in the future.
