Default Rear speakers

I've been lookin around here and other forums and really not been able to find any direct answer to this question. I have an 89 GT convertible. I've gotten the dash and the door speakers installed fine with no problems. The rear speakers on there are another story. I've managed to pull off the pannel, but the speakers look like they're rivited on from the front or something? I've also heard you can "shove" 6x9's in place of the stock ones (I think they are 6.5"?). If anyone has any ideas on how to get them out, I'd be a huge help. I'm sure it's really easy and I'm just being stupid and missing something odvious.

Thanks in advance!

wierd--my 89 'vert had screws to hold em in. i don't think 6x9"s will fit there either. lust go with a nice set of 6.5" co-axs for that location.

Yeah, it looks like they are riveted on or something? If there are screws, it'd have to be from the front, but I can't seem to figure out how they come out. I'd be fine with a set of 6.5"s in there if I could actually get the damned things out lol.

I didn't check this before I posted the link but, it's basically tips on difficult installs...
InstallDR.com, I spent hours online trying to find out how to get a deck out of a 91 Accord until I found this site it basically showed me how to do what other places wanted $20 for. Anyone reading this I recommend you write that site down, you never know when that'll come inhandy.
