Default Looking for recommendations from audio guys

I am looking to upgrade my sound system. I used to install audio/video systems in peoples cars in high school but that was a very long time ago. I have a bone stock audio system from factory. I want to upgrade all 4 speakers and add a subwoofer in the back. I am getting a custom fiberglass box for the corner of the trunk and making a hanging amp rack w/ 2 amps from the rear deck. I want speakers that will give me good sound to compliment a 10in. sub.

Any suggestions of brand?

be sure to include a fan for the amps then, the get hot when mounted on the top of the trunk and most manf recomend mounting them upsidedown because of heat issues.

I would look at brands like focal, dynaudio, Hertz, hybrid audio, phoenix gold has some good new stuff out now too check out the new elite series that just started shipping this week.

I think he means that most manufactures recomend against mounting them upside down.

The circuit board is typically on the bottom of the amp, and heat rises. If you mount the amp upside down, the heat will quickly saturate the PC board, and not have a way to go down to the heat sink.

Oh, and... Never buy speakers that you haven't actually listened to.

Great! Thanks for the tips. Ill go around to a few audio shops and listen what they have. Also, Im not actually mounting the amp directly to the rear deck. The amps will be mounted on an actual rack... the rack will be suspended from the rear deck. Should look really nice when Im done.

again mounting amps upside down is not recomended due to heat issues, be sure at the min to include a fan or two to keep air going across the amp/s. If you are not going to bridge them into a low ohms load or play them loud then it really should not be an issue but if you are gonna jam it be sure to cool it.

I highly recommend Hertz audio, little bit more expensive, but I personally will never use anything else for speakers, subs and amps.
