Default Custom Audio in an 03 Vert

Tearing into my car's trunk here recently to replace the shocks I noticed that there's quite alot of potentially useable space where the top folds down into. Seems to me that I'd have to build a shield or cage to keep the top fabric from lying on any amps I put back there or subwoofer enclosures. Anyone do this? How did it work for you?

Verts are tough, in terms of woofers and amps. Yes when you look at the trunk sure a couple twelves can fit in there. Ever look around to see how the hell you'd get a box in there, the angles are to steep and the backseat access isn't much (11 1/2 inches) unless you build the box so that the drivers are upfiring dont even think about getting 12's in there. Consider 2 10's in a very custom box, if you can build it good, if not I recommend taking it to a specialist, to get the box to spec with the drivers and get it to fit into the car. Yes boxes need to be a certain size in order for the drivers to function correctly. Check out some 5500 10" MTX drivers, a 4501 MTX amplifier and a custom box and you'll be all set. Subs should be about $150 each, amp is $400, and expect to pay about $100-150 for the box, set aside $200 for wiring and installation if need be.
