I didnt use an adapter and didnt cut any wires. I stripped some of the shielding from the + and - wires going to teh stock connector and cut a section of my home wire and wrapped it around the bare wires fron the car.

Was there already a port cut into your door panel for the 8" sub?

I used a strong utility knife to do the cutting. Also only 2 of the holes lined up from sub to door. For the other holes I used the screws provided with the subs and made new holes. they screwed in fairly easy.

I've got the same question. I have the base model without the sub ports so I guess my two options are:

1). Find two door skins from a wreck that already has the ports for the Shaker system.

2). Cut the holes myself which may end of destroying the door skin.

Any work arounds?

i bet you have done something already, but to answer your question you can put the subs in a kick panel, or do like I did and put them in the trunk.
