Default Nav Retrofit

Hello all,

First post; be gentle! My wife and I just picked up a new V6 Premium convertible, with Pony pack and comfort pack. Great car, but we're already looking at a few things we'd like to change on it.

Only regret so far (bar the fact that a GT was too expensive!) is that we didn't spec the electronics pack as well. We can live without most of it (and with the discount we got on the car, getting any money off the $3400 option wasn't going to happen), but the big touchscreen would be nice, as would the digital climate controls.

Simple question; can I pick it up somewhere and retrofit it? Will Ford themselves fit it for me? I know it won't be quite plug and play, but any chance it could be done simply aftermarket?

Fantastic, that's what I was looking for! Might be a bit above my level of training but looks like it could be fun...

I made a sticky on how to put an aftermarket radio in, there are a few different faceplates you can use, 3 last i checked, and it might end up being cheaper and possibly better than the stock one. And yes it won't cost the $3400 that the factory charges.
here is the link to my write up. I have done it on 2 different mustangs and 3 different trucks, and I will be doing the 4th truck this summer sometime so if you have any questions feel free to ask!
If you want nav, an aftermarket HU is going to cost around $1k unless you find a good deal or find a used one. My first one was new but refurbished (needed a software update from the factory so they couldn't sell it new), and it only cost $400. Just an FYI...
Good Luck!
