How much bass is too much?
hello, i have a 2005 mustang, with the shaker 500 sound/audio system in it, and i was just wondering, how much bass is too much? cause i don't want to look like a fool driving around, and everyone can hear the bass. by the way, i LOVE bass, not like i give a flying **** anyways!

Idk what youre exactly asking, but who cares what the other people think! Turn that bass up all the way..
I have 1 JL w3 sub in my car and it gives an excellent bass tone, perfect loudness for the car. It can be heard by all cars at stoplights, but I dont keep it that loud. When listening to it at normal level, no one can hear it from the outside. If youre wanting a bass get this, with a custom box.

As long as you're not ruining the driving experience of people around you, you can have as much bass as you want. I've got the 500 as well and the sound quality is "meh" at best. I use my car more for spirited driving though, so the radio sounds just fine to me because I'm not really paying attention.

Thats like asking how much HP is too much? it depends on the sacrifices you need to make to achieve it.
You can always turn the bass down, and you can always let off the throttle. Theres really no such thing as too much of either since you can turn them down or let off the throttle but when you go to the extremes they will be impractical and expensive.
so my answer is, whatever amount of money you decide is worth investing into bass is the right amount of bass.

When other people's bass gets so annoying that other people besides me are looking around pissed off, then it's to the point that I'll bust your car up with an 18" breaker bar if I'm having a bad day. But since you don't give a ****, it's all good!

If I'm next to someone at a stoplight and their stereo makes my mirrors shake, they should do humanity a favor and drive into a wall at 100 mph. That said I have a 1000 RMS watt sub amp powering a Type-R "12 in my car and I will never let people next to me hear it. Turn it down in neighborhoods too because only douchebags bump, no excuses.
