I modified the Metra Dashkit in my 2013 GT to allow the headunit to be mounted above the touchscreen A/C controls. I basically relocated the HVAC box to the bottom of the dash opening and used home-made brackets to mount the head unit. Then cut up the Metra dash kit and an extra standard dash bezel to relocate everything.

This was my first shot at fabricating/modifying anything in the car. It didn't come out terrible, but there are a few improvements I'd like to make to it.
