Default HID ThieF

Interesting subject line hu!

I drive a 90 gt vert and basically I want HID headlights high/low and fog lights. I'm not gonna pay 500 dollars for a HID kit. Instead I want to get the factory setup out of a lexus, bmw, benz, etc. I'm sure I can find a donor car at a junk yard locally.

How do I find the components on one of these cars? Does anyone know where the ballasts are that go with the bulbs?

Has anyone done this before? It should be possible.

ive thought the same thing.
the ballasts and bulbs need to fit into the stock mustang housing and wiring (i think) needs to be pulled (from lxs) and mounted into stang.
my concern is melting the housing
i also get saftey inspected which would require me to switch back and forth fairly easily as no hid are legal unless they are OEM on the car.

im not good with electrical wiring and such but these were my first thoughts.
let us know what you find out or how it goes.

So your from california too? I hate those laws. I don't think the heat would be a problem. If so you can work around that. I just intended to use the same plug for the bmw bulb and make it fit in my headlights. I think you also need a shield in front of the hid bulb to reflect it backwards so it works correctly.
