Heh, my friends have fried so many subs, including a couple type r's, L5's, and he managed to burn the tinsel leads off on a XXX 18 quad voice coil.

Never heard the type S, but the type Rs sound pretty clean and loud for the money

 

They are loud...and they don't mellow. If that's what you want then yeah no doubt they will perform. I would have liked them much better if they were able to perform at lower volumes.

 

i have some type e's,they dont sound real bad but i havent heard the s or the r types but have heard alot abt the large sound of the r's........speaking of,anyone wanna buy some 12' alpine e series subs? 200-250rms i dont member a piece,they sound aight, in two individual boxes so that kinda sucks,whats the best way to enclose some of these subs?

The Type R's are better, they have 500 watts RMS and I'm not sure what the E's have, but I know their less. I got Kicker L5's 600 watts RMS and I love em... hit harder than any subs ive had and most of my friends subs...

 

Not to start an argument, but are you saying they are "better" just becuase they handle a lot of power?
