Default Stereo install help needed

Hey everybody, i'm new here so go easy on me. I have a 98 v6 without the mach system and i removed the H/U tape player and separate CD player. Now i'm having trouble installing an aftermarket Pioneer H/U. I probably got the wrong wiring harness because the harness has 4 plugs on it. A 6-wire plug for the power and ground, etc. An 8-wire plug for the speakers. A 4-wire plug branching off the 6-wire plug and another small 8-wire plug branching off the larger 8-wire plug. The only plug i've connected successfully is the 6-wire plug for the power. All of the other stock plugs are totally different sizes from the plugs on the harness that i bought. And i've heard some things about a stock amplifier but i don't really know what's going on with that. With all that said if anyone could lend some info, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot

Rhyknow

The Mach sound system uses an external amp (I think its located in the trunk or by the back speakers). You need a diffrent harnes for what you got. You got the one for the base radio. You will also have to bypass the external amp other wise you will be amping a amped sorce (good bye speakers). If you need more help let me know!

thanks for pointing that out. I didnt look that close. but he would still have an external amp if he has both the tape deck and the cd deck.

there should be 2 square shaped harnesses and a long rectangal harness. 1 is 6 prong (amplifier), the other is 8 prong (speakers), and the other long one is for power ground etc.
