Default front bass driver side speaker issue

Around a couple of months ago I started to have issues with my front bass driver side speaker in my mach 460. (I narrowed the speaker down via bal and fade) It started to rattle, make static noises and such and it has got worse over time. I finally had the change to take out the speaker and visually it looks just fine. There are no holes in the cone and the connection seem to be pretty solid. Could it still be the speaker?

Please help?!

ya it is probaly unwinding the coil on the inside. push down a little bit on the cone and see if it makes a scratching noise. im sure its junk.

I tried that and it does

I called up the ford dealer and another one will cost 43 and change. I wanted to upgrade, but I just do not have the money to do so right now.

Thanks again all

you can get some aftermarkets like bravox or arc for under a 100 for a pair and it would be a ton better than factory.

Would I have to change the HU or the amps since I am changing the speakers?

Pop off the black panel that holds the window and door lock controls, there should be two screws holding a bracket on there. Tighten those or use some threadlock. Problem solved.
