Default Did I tire out my AMP?

Okay, my amp(a rockford fosgate P3001) was working fine until I parallel wired my woofers(2 RF P210S4). Then the next thing I know it stops bumpin. I rewired them back to series. I have had them series wired for almost a week and they've been working fine...no problems, heck sounded better IMO than when I ran the A and B channels. I know the subs are under powered but I plan on getting another P3001 amp in the near future. But my main question is why is the bass cutting in and out all of a sudden? Is my amp in protection mode? THe light on the front blinks if I turn the gain up...but I can't feel the bass at all anymore... Am I completely screwed or will it recharge itself?(dumb question I know) Please help! Thank you!

impedence load on the amp exceeded its stability most likely. Also the amp does not hold a charge therefore it does not have the ability to recharge itself.

not necessarily...recheck all of your connections especially your grounds. if everything else is in order you may want to have someone take a look at it to determine if its on its way out.

we need more details.... do you have a two channel amp? did you have the two channels briged??? if you did then you might have presented a 2 ohm load to the amp when you re-wired the subs in parallel, and most amps aren't 2 ohm stable in bridged mode....hence the amp went into protection mode.

the amp should be fine just run each sub on its own channel.

It's a mono amp...I was going to buy another one just like it but have kinda changed my mind a bit...I think I'm going to try and sell the rockford stuff and go Boston Acoustic...I've read in other posts that one 12 inch woofer will hit harder and sound better than two inferior woofers? I like to turn it up and feel the bass sometimes, but 70% of the time I go for SQ! I'm thinkin a Boston sub http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=2519 and I can't really decide on the amp I want to go with...Any suggestions? I listen to rap and rock. I want to stay under 400 on the amp..thanks for any advice!

What about this amp? http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...Product_ID=127 I know it's more than what I said, but it would make most sense right?

try to hook up just one sub and see if it still does it. I have heard that the new Rockfords all have problems with going out.

Yeah I did that, its fine right now. I have it hooked up one sub per output. I just want something thats better I guess[&:] I'm going to get Sx85 Boston speakers and S series tweeters so I just figured I like Boston so much why not just do a Boston themed stereo lol.
