MRP-T220 Alpine
actually if i was u you i would get 4 ohm and bridge them to 2 ohm, this way your amp thinks they are 2 ohm and they hit harder.

Oh and a two ohm sub will NOT hit harder than a 4 ohm or 8 ohm sub. This is a myth brought on by the fact that an amp running in 2 ohms will generally push more watts than if it were to run in 4 ohms. But there are amps that push more watts in 4 ohms, it just depends on how the amp is made.
[/quote] Your running 140 watts into a 600 watt sub so your eventually gonna blow it. you actually need to overpower your sub so you dont distort it so id go with an amp that runs at least 600 watts rms.

all lies.....underpowering has NEVER blown a sub. Clipping does the damage. you do not need to overpower a sub to stop distorsion...in fact overpowering, combined with clipping is the most deadly thing for a sub. the amount of power fed to a sub is determined first by manufacturer's recommendation, second by install, third by the amp. example: if kicker says a 12" L7 can take 1000 watts then that is simply your starting point in where you start to match an amp to your needs. second, that 1000w can go up or down depending on your enclosure, sealed boxes generally can take more power and ported boxes generally need less power to achieve the same output as a sealed box in comparison. lastly, the quality of the amp adds considerably to the effectiveness of the woofer. An audiobahn amp rated at 1000w will never put out clean watts around 1000 there it will start to clip or send square looking waves at the sub when in fact sine waves should look like nice rolling hills. if you look at clipping like an analogy, think of it as a pipe that water flows through. piping has a rating of gpm, if you surpass the rating of the pipe, it will put more than rated gpm but the water flow becomes eratic and not smooth at all. same thing as an amp--output becomes eratic and not smooth and leads to clipping. audiobahn is notorious for overrating their product so you may see the 1000 w but it will be pure square waves.
