I have $1000 for Setup 02 Mustang GT Which?
Ok, my 02 Stang is fast and looking real good. Now I am ready for some good sound. I have a grand set aside for this. Which set up is best suited for the acoustics of my 02? I am looking to replace the entire Mach 400 system. I don't want a sub in my trunk. I just want a top receiver, 4 speakers, and amp. Any suggestions? I do like Alpine receivers. But which one?
THANKS,
JANINE

since you like Alpine stick with that idea especially for the cd sound quality of the deck, if you can get ahold of some 6x8 0r 5x7 MB Quarts from last year of later go with those. i say last year or later because Rockford got ahold of them and they have ruined the quality. soon they'll have the equivalent of lightning audio. a nice solid 4 channel amp from JL Audio with finish it perfectly.
Go with a alpine deck some good speakers an a 4 channel amp!!! WOOT WOOT!!! heres a sweet setup thats in your price range....
$349 Alpine CDA-9853, $219 P162S in front, $149 SPR-57LS in rear, and at least a $199 MRP-F250 amp.... you can actually go with a better amp and it can be anyother brand this is just a good alpine setup, cuz it seems like you like alpine.... so that should be in your price range. Install should put it at around $1200 maybe a little more.... of course you can get something better but this is a good setup in your price range, hope this helped.....

I would look into Focal sperates for the front and 5x7s for the rear. The 5x7s are only made in the polyglass line, but the 6.5" seperates in the access line are nice.
Well I chose the components in the front because they have the tweeters which would replace the stock stereo she has now. Or she can get the seperate, either way the speakers in the 99-04 stangs are 5x7's but 6.5's will fit for the fronts.... even 6x8's will fit in the rear, theres so many choices but for her price range and a good audio setup what I suggested will work and sound good....

You've led me in the right direction. I just purchased the following on Crutchfield: CDA-9853 Alpine Receiver $309, 4 Alpine SPR-57LP (5x7) Speakers, $149 a set, and Alpine MRP-F240 Amp, $150. Total $1057. I decided to go with 5x7's in both front and rear because they are direct fit replacement speakers. No modifications needed.
What is your honest opinion on this set up?
GOOD JOB!!! yeah thats a good setup, good choice on speakers, everything, I would have gotten a bigger amp but let us know how it sounds once you get it installed....
