SO, I was on the freeway tonight....and what do I get coming along side of me?? an 05 or 06 black GT. Naturally I instigated a race, I banged it into third and got to 90, then he gets along side of me, revvs the engine and then goes. I bang it into third again and we get to 120 and I came out on top....by a full car length. Was he not trying? I did not think a Bullitt could beat a new style GT. Maybe this car is a lot faster than I thought... Any Ideas?

 

maybe that the bullitt is gear lower? or that it weighs roughly 400lbs less, bullitts are fast, i wouldnt under estimate them.

 

or the gt was an automatic. Automatics suck at top end. My 91 gt when your going like 70 and someone wants to run you, you stomp on it and it just down shifts once and you really dont go anywhere.

 

Well actually, it was a manual because he revved it on me when he took his exit. Well he COULD have popped it in "N" then back to "D" but I dont think so.

 

there is no doubt in MY mind a nullitt can outrun an 05', they are pretty over rated and surely do not hav ethe low end our cars have. i dont know much about the SS chevy truck other than it is an SS, Anyways i had one lined up to me on the rightside at a light, we both knew what we had to do when it was time, so we took off at the same time. I redlined everyshift and came out on top but hey, those trucks are fast! He stayed up with me for a second, anyways just wanted to post my thought on the 05 and tell off on my kill.thanks

 

i've stayed even with a convertible corvette all through fourth, and he started to pull after i granny shifted into 5th.(after research, he had 350hp)
so i can definatley believe that you took that mustang, it wasnt a fluke.

P.S. i stayed even, and then started pulling on a MAch1 this summer on the highway : P

 

thats nice to know. ive beaten to 2 28's i raced a 2000 at the track he called me out at school in front of everyone soo i we both went to the track and i beat him by a car and a half. Then i raced one from about a 40 mph roll and i was pulled on him about to cars and then i just stopped that one was an 97 or 96.. i thought they were suppose to have 315 hp though???????????

i have a 02 trans am collector edition with the LS1 engine and there isnt anyway my bullitt can out run it. it is clearly faster so i cant imagine staying with a vette unless he didnt knwo he was in arace.

 

he gave me the thumbs up after we pulled off the freeway, and my g/f did the same at him.
