What if a 2002 v6 that has all of the standard upgrades (headers, intake, muffler) went up against a 5.0 89foxbody with the same upgrades would i stand a chance in beating it?
heads/cam/ long tubes/windstar intake, h-pipe/4.10 gears, shift kit/3000 stall and i beat a new 5.0 while i was in a 2001 v6
As a guy with a '95 and a '11 V6 (so both the 3.8 and 3.7) there is no way I see you winning against a new 5.0 unless the driver sucked ***** or missed a shift.
With the mods you have listed I dont see you above 250HP (depending on the cams) max. I have heads, intakes, 3.73's, true duels, short shifter, CAI, and A/C delete on my 3.8 and dont even hit 200HP.
Most likely the 5.0 didnt know he was racing.

Yeah I think you would. The Fox is a light car but those old 5.0's have 210 HP stock (same almost as the 01 V6) and are very heavy. I think it would be a drivers race.

You beat a new 5.0 with a 01 6er with the above mentioned mods? No way Jose... Are you sure this guy was racing you? With those mods a New Edge GT whould get his azz handed to him by a newer model 5.0..
