Default first bump-up :[

so i was in a left turning lane today with my girl in the passenger seat at an intersection. there was a white mustang in front of me oddly enough. our arrow turned green, they we started driving through and this van drives through the red light and hits me in the drivers side. it got my quarter-panel, side skirt, a scratch on the door, and scuffed up the rear driver-side wheel pretty bad. needless to say, i was beyond pissed.

so now i'm sitting here on hold with the lady's insurance company (for the past 15mins) waiting to get information so i can get my car fixed.

just thought i would share :[

they slammed on their brakes and i caught them out of the corner of my eye quick enough so that i could swerve, but they still hit me probably going about 25ish :[ i went to the ford body shop today to get an estimate and have some parts ordered and her insurance is going to have a $1800 bill, on top of paying for a rental car for a few days for me while they fix it. it definitely wasn't anywhere close to being as bad as it could have been though.

guess how much that GT/CS stripe costs, just for one side? flipplin' $155...i was floored when i heard that lol

Wow, did you already order everything?

You may have been able to get her insurance to write a check, and then you could have gotten some aftermarket parts, depending on what was damaged. Either way, as long as everything gets fixed.

Im getting the ford place to take care of everything cuz its something I don't want to deal with hah. Between that and I don't know if her insurance would write a check to me or just to the body shop. They ordered my stuff yesterday and it should go in the shop either friday or monday.
I do need get on some upgrades though.

Their insurance is required to cut a check to you if you ask. You go get estimates from a body shop on the damage, and then there is a procedure for getting them to write you the check instead of a shop. Then they are out of the equation, and you can order whatever parts you want and get them installed. The only issue that comes into play is when you get overambitious and spend more than insurance gave you.

I forgot what it's called when you get a check instead of the car being fixed...there's a name for it I believe.

That would have made me physically ill. Glad you weren't hurt and hope you get the damage repaired quickly.
