Joe Newby from the Examiner wrote an article today about a page being taken down by Facebook, and an admin banned because of the U.S. Marine Logo “violating community standards.” The pro-military page “Lock and Loaded” was unpublished at 53,000 “likes.” Why would that occur, and how can the United States Marine Corps logo”violate” Facebook Community standards?
Jason Light, one of the admins for the popular page, told Examiner that the page was covering the funeral of USMC Lance Corporal Skip Wells, who was shot and killed in Chattanooga. This is the picture that was removed:
The Examiner article stated that page administrator Robert Combs actually received a 3 day ban because of the image above. The page admins are reportedly “floored” that the USMC symbol could possibly be construed as offensive or in violation of any community standards of any kind.
That particular image is all over Facebook. To take it down fully, they’d have to take down the posts of literally thousands of users. By singling out Locked and Loaded, they have proven an anti-military bias.
TAKING DOWN CONSERVATIVE PAGES
But to have the entire page taken down is completely crazy- or is it?
The history of Conservative pages being unpublished on Facebook is a strange one. It sometimes occurs a few months prior to elections in November. Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children has been taken down twice before – at 600,000+ likes and 372,000+ likes.
THE SILENCING OF THE RIGHT
Is Facebook trying to silence Conservatives? Do they see influence in the pages that have a large “reach?” Locked and Loaded had a reach of over 1 million people.
They have tried to silence Conservatives since the beginning. They enforce their “standards” arbitrarily, leaving up vile and hateful postings while removing popular pages that bring truth to Americans.
THEY’LL BE BACK
Was Locked and Loaded the victim of a “fake Conservative Troll?” Or did someone inadvertently push “unpublish the page” after the post was removed? Did someone target them specifically for removal? We may never know, but as with all tough Conservatives, they will replace the page. They won’t be cowed by Facebook’s obnoxious practices.
My opinion is the conservatives are going to face more of this as our world becomes increasingly politically correct. I don't know how we stop it. If this was happening to a liberal post all the networks/news agencies would be all over it.
