Default ~ NCCAR Track Day

I talked to the powers that be up at NCCAR about doing a track day in March...
The dates available are the 23rd and 24th.

Im just gauging interest here so please vote on which day you would attend!
There is nothing set in stone on prices, but in the past a full day with 3-4 sessions of 15min each would probably cost $150.

We would need a minimum of 30 cars (some of which I can get from other forums/clubs). It would be pre-registration ONLY, and you would need a helmet. Im working on getting track day insurance for the group as well!

The website for the track is here: http://nccar.us/

Previous track day video is here:

Seems a little steep for that many sessions, do they have that many cars show up or is there just a lot of down time?

Between the cars cooling down between runs and the driver meetings its actually a full day! Last Aug I didnt even make it to thee 4th run before heading home.

Most tracks charge upwards of $250-$300 for a day of track time. VIR & Kershaw are pricey,. Even the Holiday laps are $25ea, and you have a pace car.....

But like I said, I estimated high so the price doesnt jump once the official amount is released.

Just wondering. Kershaw prices 225 without an instructor for their standard track days, and estimates 5-6 20 minute sessions.

It's gonna be $5500 for the track for the day....
Split that up amongst 40 cars and it's $140! Includes Insurance and Track maint crew (tow vehicle and marshals)

40-45 cars would mean three groups of 15 cars each, would take 1.5hrs to get through all three groups at 20min each. so you would get 2-3 sessions before lunch and 2-3 after.

Date available is March 2nd now....the 23rd has been booked.

Anyone interested!?

March might work, can we get the "word" out and get enough involved to keep cost down? I know we can get this on allfordmustangs, S197, Unitedstangs and some other forums. We can also post it in the VA section as well, we can probably get some of the eastern VA guys interested.

True, Im sure it will not be a problem to do. I have a meeting with the "Twisted Stallions" club on the 20th. I will talk with them about fronting the money for this and let you guys know.....

P.S. the March VIR track day has been canceled by "TrackDaze"

Got all the details!

Date Mar 2nd (Tentative)
Cost per person: $100 half day, $150 full day
3 classes (beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)

20min sessions (one run per class per hour)
Half day will get you 4 runs total
Full Day will get you 8 runs total

The above prices are based off having 45 ppl.

Please let me know ASAP if you want to attend so I can book the track!
Please specify if you prefer FULL day or HALF day.....we will all have to be in agreeance here.

Again, nothing is in stone, this is to judge interest. I have posted this on a few other forums too!

Track info: www.nccar.us

Well thats a pretty good deal. I'll have to check and see about scheduling. Would the half day be something that you can run in any four sessions, or the first four? Also would you have to be there in the morning for a safety brief? I don't think I can pull off a four hour drive in the morning to get there at 8 and then another four back, so either half day or get a room somewhere for a full day.
