Dragstrip Times
Well I ran at the dragstrip tonight. 1/8 mile. I have a 06 gt and all I have done is a roush extreme exhaust. My fastest time was 9.51. Does that seem right? Seems a little slow to me.

Yep, your 60ft times are WAY too slow. Like Zodiac said, the goal should be 2.0 minimum. Every .10 seconds you cut from your 60ft time, it will translate into a .15 reduction in your ET at the finish line. Your MPH is about right, I have seen a little higher and I have also seen a little slower. Work on your launch techniques and shifting. Those are the biggest factors.
My 05 GT ran a 9.46 @ 76mph the first time at the track, so you are in the ball park. With a CAI and a custom tune it ran a 9.12 @ 81 mph.

The key is to slip the clutch enough to keep the rpms up without getting to much wheelspin. 2500 rpms sounds about right with the stock gear. From the look of the timeslip you were probably spinning too bad.

Alright I'll give that a shot. As far as tire pressure goes, I've heard that pumping the fronts to 50psi and dropping the rears to 18psi, or somewhere around that. I didn't do that last night, but I might next time. Any experience with this? Also, I always learned that you should avoid the burnout box if you only have street tires. Any truth to this?

Yes, STAY OUT of the water. Doesn't do anything but make you spin worse on street tires. If you had drag radials, then lowering the pressure would help,on street tires it does nothing except make you spin worse. The minimum should be 28 in the rears. Over inflating the fronts will help reduce rolling resistance and can lower ETs, but only by very little. The main thing is to get some seat time... the ETs will start dropping with no changes to the car just because you are getting more used to it.

Can't help you on launch techniques because I have an auto. I drive through the water and do a quick burn out up to the start line to clean the tires off a bit and burn off the water. I leave off idle. I don't do anything to my tire pressures and just mash the go pedal.
