You're too young to have a heart attack, go into shock maybe....

I expect to spend about that much, for a 4 grand paint job you could expect to spend at least 1k in just materials. Thought your dad was a painter?

If there's a Vo-tech or Community college that teaches autobody in your area you might see if they'll paint it cheaper. Better job than Maaco will probably do.

Thing with Maaco's is that they're all independently ran so one might do a kickass job and another might do a crappy job.

dang I completwly forgot about that. Not sure how BC works but can you enroll in classes at LTC? You could do the entire shop course and paint your car yourself if you provide the paint.

BC is to poor to afford a paint shop, but they have a body shop. Which I'm taking auto tech next year.

They don't have a interface program with Lexington? Bet that the body shop teacher and the paint shop guy at LTC know each other, you could probably get something worked out. It will just take a lot of tape, sanding, and prep on your part to get it done fast enough that you won't be without your car.

Or you could tape everything off and plastidip the whole car, then peel it off when you go to sell it/trade it in without having to worry about a lot of prep. Only issue is that it's not much cheaper.

Well I'm kind of stuck at the moment, so I'll just have to get the money from working this summer. But I am kind of ashamed to go to car meets with the paint chipping and the hood decolorized.

It's ok, we're ashamed of half the members that show up. It would be much nicer if the cars just drove themselves and left the members at home.
