The Blue Oval Club of Shelby had planned a mountain drive this coming Sunday Oct. 18th and then cancelled it. We were going and still are. The exact route is still a bit up in the air but we will roll from Hickory at 9:30 and meet at Love's Travel Stop in Marion, NC for a 10:15ish departure.

Tentative route is Marion to Hwy 80 (Devil's Whip) to the Parkway for a cruise over to Linville for lunch. Blue Oval had planned a picnic stop but it's supposed to be 31 Saturday night up there and a high of 50.

I know John and Daniela are meeting me in Hickory. If we have a larger group I will find a good meet spot.

Small group, John & Daniela, Herbie, Deb and I were the only ones that made it today. But it was an awesome day for a drive.

It was fun, going again November 14th, slightly different route though. But still should be a blast.

Randy, I hope Amber is feeling better. From what I have heard vertigo can be a real bitch. I don't think she would have liked Hwy 80, probably the best way I have found to the Parkway.

 

Went through Hickory last weekend on the way to Charlotte.....

Wish I could join you this weekend but used my petrol allowance already.
