try putting the shadow on the other side, so it hangs off the bottom left side. if you want the shadow in there.

Make a duplicate layer of the car, and black it out. They erase parts of it, and tweak it to make a nice shadow. That way it looks real...drop shadows only work well with text.

unless you tried it already, i think it could look good. it would help accent his scoop stripe. maybe just desaturate it and play with the brightness/contrast
