Anyone??
Hey, anyone know of a site or person who would pay for photoshop work to be done for them.
i.e. logos, graphics, etc...
Because I'm always low on cash and would like to get something for something that i'm kinda good at.

just google search terms to find sites that are looking for designs. ive done a few for a few bucks here and there. there's no set site where people are paying for stuff like that, its just whatever site needs something done for them.
you could also look into contests that offer cash rewards. although those get real tough sometimes.

yeah not much are. i searched already and there are already plenty of sites that do them for free. my best bet would just to enter a contest but i've seen some and they seem crazy.

there's not really much to say, you just gotta know someone that works for a company that advertizes online.
and some forums, people are willing to pay for your work (ie sigs and crap).

- The way you get into it is you first you need to put together a portfolio.
- Secondly, you only apply to companies that you genuinely have an interest in because that will show if you should get an interview. Reflect your knowledge of their specific product and company in your cover letter/introduction to them.
- Competition is stiff - everyone thinks they are a graphic designer. Set yourself apart, have a professional style and attitude. Meet your committments and deadlines.
- Be diverse with your skills. Know web graphics, but also print. You will get more gigs if you know both.
- Regarding logo work, that's called "Corporate ID" or "Identity." It's a whole skill set in itself. There's a science to making a brand identity. No swooshes, drop shadows. Keep current on the latest design principles so your stuff doesn't look pase.
- If you're hustling for freelance work be prepared for headache because people don't pay on time and they are more demanding and often don't even know how to give you direction. Because of that you need to know how to extract that from them and know how to persuade, communicate, be on top of it. Do some comp work but don't kill yourself. They will take advantage.
- Some good apprenticeships might be working for a print shop, sign shop, newspaper, local radio stations (websites), in your area perhaps tourism/travel agencies, real estate. Volunteer for .org websites, help them maintain it or something. It is a lot about who you know and making contacts with business people is important - volunteering helps with that plus hopefully makes you feel good.
- designers guard their turf jealously so I don't know how much help other designers will be. Keep at it and work on your portfolio, in the end that is what speaks for you.
hope this helps
