I can't speak for any other artist about how they would do what you've got. But I can say that there are many ways to go about it and many tools that go into it.

If you want to get into photoshop, I suggest taking a good basic photoshop course or buy a good 'how to get started with photoshop' type book. If you know anyone whose familiar with it they can help you to get started. It's a great tool with almost infinite possiblities. But it's also a pretty steep learning curve. So don't get frustrated with it.

I find that I use the cursors, lassos and airbrush tools more than anything else. But I've been using a real airbrush for 15+ years so my style and techniques tend to reflect that.

I'm not an artist by profession (if I were you wouldn't be getting this stuff for free) but my brother is an illustrator. His background is in fine art and painting. He uses the program like a typical brush and his style reflects that. BTW a sig like that from him would cost you a few hundred $$$

Good luck and have fun with it.

Steve

lasso the car, then use the tool that looks like just a mouse pointer, and drag and drop the selection onto a new document.

use the polygonal lasso. it uses anchor points. just click and hold on the lasso button and it'll let you select the polygonal lasso tool.

Try using the 'polygonal lasso'. It allows you to use short little lines to surround the object. It takes a while but if you have only a mouse the standard lasso is way too sensitive. To open the polygonal lasso click on the little triangle in the lasso tool sqare. It looks like a coat hanger.
