I traced the car like this:

Then I copied it, made a 2nd layer on top of the car, and pasted it on there. Then I lowered it a little bit.

Gotchya, so I'm cutting too close. When you cut, is it in lots of straight lines, or do you use some kind of curved cutting tool?

Yea, you don't have to cut very close. And yes, I use a kind of "segmented" tool, bunch of connected straight lines that connect as you click. You know what I mean, lol.

OK, that's pretty much how I do it except I cut out one more of just the tree line to hide that line. I guess I lowered it too much, LOL. ...or I just need to blow it up and take my time cutting.
